PSC 213 - Practicum in Fire and EMS Dispatching
12 Credits
This course provides the trainee Fire and EMS dispatcher with a real-life, applied learning environment for the knowledge and skills acquired in PSC 203 Fire and EMS Dispatch and PSC 101 Emergency Medical Dispatch. This one-on-one learning experience with a communications training officer increases the student's proficiency as a dispatcher. The student’s degree of direct involvement increases and accelerates with experience.
Prerequisite(s): PSC 203 - Fire and EMS Dispatching.
Course Learning Outcomes
1. Select a fire/EMS response based on information received from a telecommunicator, fire/EMS resource, or established response plan.
2. Initiate a fire/EMS response based on information received from a telecommunicator, fire/EMS unit, or established response plan.
3. Use various technologies to communicate with fire/EMS resources.
